Jade Angeles Fitton is a writer. In a previous life she was an award-winning producer. Jade loves to talk about herself in the third person. Over the past decade Jade has worked as a writer and journalist for the likes of the The Guardian, the Financial Times, The Spectator, The Independent, Vogue, the Times Literary Supplement, the New Statesman, The Guardian Country Diary, You Magazine, The Scotsman, Literary Review, The Fence, The British Fashion Council, The BBC, London Design Week, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and has been featured in The Guardian.
Jade’s first book, the hybrid-memoir, Hermit, was published published by Penguin Random House in 2023. The Times Literary Supplement called it, ‘Rapturous’. Jade’s short stories have been published on SomeSuch Stories , The London Magazine and The Common Breath. She was commissioned by the BFI’s feminism in film website, TTIN, to write a short story that has since been awarded an ‘honourable mention’ in Glimmer Train’s ‘New Writers’ competition. She is working sporadically on her first novel, for which she has received an Arts Council grant for the arts.
Her poetry was shortlisted for The Moth Poetry Prize 2023 and has been published in a number of magazines including as a cover poet of The Moth, The Irish Times, and The New River Press 2017 anthology. Her prose poem, The Language of the Stars Doesn’t Look Good On Paper, was published last autumn by AKA. Jade has three poems in the U.S. edition of SMEAR published by Andrews McMeel Publishing. She has also published her first collection in collaboration with the Barnstaple and North Devon Museum featuring a number of celebrated local artists, with poems inspired by the museum’s archives and local myth and folklore. As a producer and presenter Jade’s clients have included The British Fashion Council, London Design Week, Burberry, Cadbury and Arsenal FC. She has won a Revolutions Advertising Award and had an advert nominated for a Cannes Lions Award.
Jade graduated her Master’s in Creative, Professional and Digital Writing with distinction. While studying, her work was published in the Creative Writing Anthology.
